Cardinals vs Seahawks Live

The Arizona Cardinals close out their dismal 2018 season on the road in Seattle against the playoff-bound Seahawks.

The Cardinals (3-12) can tie the franchise mark for fewest wins since moving to Arizona.

Sunday’s Arizona Cardinals vs. Seattle Seahawks is meaningful for both teams, but for completely different reasons.

The Cardinals (3-12) have had a bad season, there’s no other way to put it. However, being bad has its perks. And if the Cardinals lose on Sunday, they clinch the league’s worst record, meaning they would get the No. 1 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Arizona is led by first-year head coach Steve Wilks and rookie quarterback Josh Rosen. Their first year in Arizona hasn’t been great. The Cardinals have the league’s worst offense and are 27th in scoring defense, allowing 26.5 points per game. Rosen has thrown 10 touchdowns and 14 interceptions (tied for the third most) in 13 games.

Week 16 continued the struggles for both with the Los Angeles Rams defeating them 31-9. Rosen finished with just 87 yards before being replaced by Mike Glennon.

The team’s only touchdown came on a pass from veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to David Johnson. Sunday’s game may mark the last for Fitzgerald as rumors of his retirement have swirled. Fitzgerald has had a legendary career, ranking second all-time in career receiving yards and third all-time in career receptions.

As for the Seahawks (9-6), a win would clinch a playoff date with the Dallas Cowboys (in Dallas) in the Wild Card round. However, if they lose, they may fall back to the sixth seed. A loss to the Cardinals and a Minnesota Vikings win would give the Seahawks a Wild Card game against the Chicago Bears in the Windy City.

Seattle clinched its spot in the playoffs last week with a 38-31 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
